This morning I woke up to hearing Nate on the monitor singing a song from Yo Gabba Gabba:
Hold stiiiiiiiill ... Wiggle wiggle wiggle GO! Wiggle wiggle wiggle GO! Wiggle wiggle wiggle STOP! Hold stiiiiiiiill.....
A little later in the morning, he had found his paci and didn't want to take it out. I went to get on the computer, and he walked over in his walker, then reached out to the ottoman and transitioned on to it (yay) and cruised over to me and said, "Music!" I have some songs on the laptop that he likes to sing and dance to. His favorite song is "All I wanna do" by Sugarland. It came on and he started singing, but he decided the paci was getting in the way of his singing, so he took it out for that. :) You should hear him sing "Ooh hoo hoo hoo hoo hooo...."
Then we had hippotherapy this afternoon, and on the way there that song came on the radio. Nate said, "Turn it up! Turn it up!" When it was over, he said "Music again!" He really loves that song. :)
Nate had a great time riding the horse at hippotherapy, and after riding we went in the clinic to work on some OT stuff. First she wanted him to blow a whistle (to work on his oral sensitivities) and he totally didn't get it. So I offered to blow it and show him. The whistle sounded like a duck, and it scared him to death and he cried. But she also had another whistle that didn't make any noise but made a wheel turn, and he successfully did that and loved it. And the third whistle made a regular whistle sound, and he was able to do that and really liked it too.
The OT asked me last week if it was okay for her to give Nate a sucker to help with his sensitivities, and I said that was fine. In the past, he has refused suckers, so I thought it would be interesting. She used a dum-dum and first she asked him to kiss it. He was good at that. Then she asked him to touch it to his tongue. He did that, and you could see a little light bulb going off. :) He kept touching it to his tongue, then started licking it, then he said, "Yum! It's a cookie!" You can tell he doesn't get many sugary foods around here. :)
Have a good weekend!
